To all international women artists,

The emergence of  'Women art ' and "woman artist" as new terminologies justifies  the acceptance of  women's role in visual culture.  'Women art ' and "woman artist" are universal terms that are not confine to any single race, culture and tradition.

Due to advance in technology, communication and women's education, the role of contemporary women is  not  only merely as  a wife or mother at home.  `What is the true role of women artist?'  Women artists today want to be identified not only as an artist but more important  as a woman artist.

The role of International Women Artists Council (INWAC) is to foster the awareness of women art which is the revelation of the aspiration of women and thoughts and feelings about the world they live.  It is our belief that Women’s art reflects the unique sensibilities of women and their aspirations for life, art and aesthetics, will help to foster the development of peace and harmony.

The success of Her Presence In Colors VII – International Women Artists Exhibition- Korea 2006 held at the Dague Art Center, Dague on September 25 to October 1 2006 justified that women artists today are keen to seek for a wider space for self expression and  to participate in international exhibitions. 145 women artists of different nationalities and background exhibited their artworks under one roof.  The artworks created by women artists  of various mediums, techniques and approaches  including two dimensional paintings in both eastern and western modes of expression, textile art and multi media presentation...reflect both the complexity and diversity of cultural backgrounds and identities.

After enjoying the beautiful autumn in Korea, spring seems to approach faster than we realize. We are now proceeding towards Her Presence In Colours VIII- International Women Artists Exhibition to be held at China National Art Gallery on April 11- 25, 2008.
