Marlana Stoddard Hayes M.A., M.F.A., lives and works in West Linn, Oregon, on a ravine close to the Willamette. She was an artist-in-residence with the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology in 1990, and has had over 14 grants and fellowships from the Kansas Arts Commission, previously. Her work incorporates a cross-fielding knowledge system, which uses the combination of garden, library, lab and home as inspiration. She has exhibited internationally in France, Africa and China as well as in over 300 exhibitions in the US, and given invited lectures and presented papers at Stanford University, the University of Michigan, Minnesota, State University Marylhurst University, Pacific University, and over 10 Community colleges. Her work is now widely collected, with an enthusiastic following. She is represented by BeppuWiarda gallery.
