Rona Hu started her painting pursuit when she was eight years old under the guidance of professional artists. In the ensuing years, she participated in numerous art exhibitions and competitions at municipalities and provincial levels. One of her artwork titled ¡°Celebration the Nationwide Delivery of Petroleum¡± won top prize in Hunan Province and subsequently selected to participate in an exhibition in the National Gallery in Beijing.

Rona studied and fine-honed her artistic capabilities at an advanced study program in the Guangzhou Fine Arts Institute, further enhancing her solid painting technique and developing her distinctive characteristics in terms of color and space application as well as depiction of human characters..

In the late eighties, Rona Hu left China for the United States to pursue advance study, graduating with Master of Art in Economics. In 1999, she and her family settled in Hong Kong, where she began to engage herself in the work of professional painting. At once, she found that her rich life experiences allowed her to transcend and calmly observe the unique perspectives of both Easter and Western cultures.

In 2007, Rona participated in the Guangzhou Fine Arts Institute¡¯s Exhibition. In the April of this year, Hong Kong¡¯s prestigious Conrad Hotel hosted her ¡°China Melody¡± themed solo exhibition, as well as the book premiere for the publication of her artwork collection titled ¡°China Melody, attracting large crowd of art lovers and collectors, causing a media sensation. In the following two months of May and July, she was invited to participate in the Fourth Asian International Arts and Antiques Fair, as well as the International Exhibit of Outstanding Artists in Penang, Malaysia. Beijing Professor Li Song, a well known art critic and dean of Beijing University Fine Arts College remarked that Rona Hu ¡°portrays her subjects through the lens of multiple angles.¡± Dr. Luo Li of the Chinese Fine Arts Research Institute refers to Rona Hu as ¡°among the recent crop of female artists who have gained both prominence and significant promise in the artistic world¡± and claims that her works ¡°demonstrates her vigorous and exuberant creativity.
