I was born in Kedah, Malaysia. In 1978-79 I received my Textile Design and Art Teacher's Diploma from Mara Institute of Technology, Kuala Lumpur. During the 80's I was part of the Malaysian Art Examination Panel and taught art in public schools and at the Specialist Teacher's Training Institute (STTI), Kuala Lumpur. In 1985 I was awarded a Malaysian Federal Teaching Scholarship to pursue a Master of Arts Degree at the University of Illinois, graduating in 1988. While working towards my degree I learned the art of ceramics. I married artist Billy Morrow Jackson in 1988 and then resided in Champaign, Illinois. In 1999 I began working in watercolor including portraitures based on my life experiences in Malaysia, USA and my travels to Europe, the Bahamas and China. I continued exploring these diverse mediums and themes even to this day. I participated in public commission assignments, art competitive shows; locally, nationwide and internationally. More than 400 of my artworks are in public and private collections in the USA and throughout the world. In 2003 my husband and I had been commissioned to do a watercolor book entitled "On this Island: An Artistic View of Martha's Vineyard" by Spotlight Press, Champaign, Illinois, published in 2005 (ISBN: 1-58261-171-8). In 2006 my husband passed away. In 2008 I remarried an artist Brian J. Sullivan of Champaign, Illinois.
